(New) "Create
Your Legacy" - DC
DEADLINE: Rolling. "Create Your Legacy" is a grant program that encourages young people to develop
projects to improve their after-school programs and their neighborhoods. Each year, the "Create Your Legacy" program awards
up to seventy-five grants of $15,000 each to nonprofit after-school programs. The grant program encourages youth to learn
about community service and teamwork while participating in the development of two Legacy Projects: a $10,000 project to improve
their after-school program, services, or facility; and a $5,000 project to improve or beautify their neighborhood. The grant
program is open to after-school programs with current 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Eligible after-school programs should offer
youth services that emphasize leadership training, mentoring, community service, academic enrichment, or the arts. For more

The Abbey Mural Workshop
Fellowship - NY
Deadline: May 12, 2008. The National Academy Museum and School of Fine
Arts. The Abbey Mural Workshop Fellowship, July 7 – August 1, 2008. The Abbey Mural Workshop is an excellent
opportunity for professional artists interested in careers in public art, namely murals, to learn from some of the field’s
top practitioners. The fellowship will include lectures, demonstrations, and critiques. At the conclusion
of the workshop, participants will have developed a project budget, created a project maquette, and delivered a persuasive
presentation. Past participants have gone on to secure mural commissions and install public art projects across the country.

Literature Fellowships, NEA Jazz Masters Fellowships, and NEA National Heritage Fellowships in the Folk & Traditional

USArtists International Guidelines Available - MD DEADLINE: May 5, 2008. The National Endowment
for the Arts and Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation announce the availability of guidelines for the 2008/2009 cycle of USArtists
International("USAI"), a program designed to support U.S. performing artists at international festivals. USAI provides support
for U.S. dance and music ensembles that have been invited to participate in international festivals in the European Union,
Russia, and the Ukraine. Eligible countries include: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania,
Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, the Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. Applicants must be designated
by the I.R.S. as a 501(c)(3) organization, or have a fiscal agent that is designated as a 501(c)(3) organization. Guidelines

Summer 2008 Internships: John F Kennedy Center for the Performing
Arts - DC Application deadlines: Fall,
June 15; Winter/Spring, October 25; Summer, March 1. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Internship Program
offers highly motivated individuals the instruction and experience needed to be successful in today’s complex performing
arts environment. 20 college juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates are selected each semester
for full-time placements in advertising, development, education, press, programming, production, technology, and the National
Symphony Orchestra. Interns receive a weekly stipend of $225 to help defray housing and transportation costs. College

Fund for National Projects - NY
DEADLINE: May 1, 2008. During a two-year pilot phase, the Fund for National Projects will award a total of up to $1 million in grants to support
key national projects in the dance, jazz, presenting and/or theatre fields. Grants will range from $60,000 to $200,000 and
cannot exceed 40 percent of a project's total cost. National projects engage a broad national constituency, occur once (or
periodically) rather than annually, and have the potential to significantly impact a field. Eligible projects include research
projects assessing the national health of arts groups or of individual artists; special national convenings for entire performing
arts fields (beyond traditional national annual conferences); and special projects that address unique circumstances that

Glass School Mentor Program - MD
In our ongoing
mission to offer mentoring opportunities The Washington Glass School is looking for an intern/apprentice to work with a glass
artist and studio. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to learn the business of art while broadening the scope of
their material knowledge. We offer experience in public art, arts administration, creation of art in a very busy and successful
studio , and of course learning the techniques of creating glass art. The intern will be making molds, cutting glass, and
casting glass among other duties. Prior knowledge of these techniques are not necessary. The appropriate candidate will possess
the following skills: ~ incredible attention to detail. ~ a willingness to learn new techniques and to get dirty learning
them. ~ an ability to work unsupervised at times. ~ self motivation to do a good job. ~ punctuality and ability to meet deadlines.
Hours are flexible but most work must take place between Monday and Friday between 10 and 5pm. They are looking for someone
to do at least 2 or 3 days a week. While this is NOT a paid position (just an incredible opportunity for the right candidate),
